Calcutta High Court Recruitment 2024: Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant
The High Court at Calcutta is inviting applications from Indian nationals for the position of Law Clerk-cum-Research Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for law graduates to gain valuable experience by assisting the Hon’ble Judges of the High Court in both judicial and administrative duties.
Eligibility Criteria
- Nationality: Indian
- Education: LL.B degree from any recognized University in India
- Age: 23-32 years as of the date of advertisement
Appointment Process
Eligible candidates may need to appear for a written test and/or a viva-voce examination. The engagement is on a contractual basis with a consolidated remuneration of Rs. 35,000 per month.
Duties
- Assist the Judge in judicial work and administrative duties
- Research legal matters
- Assist in preparing articles and papers
- Take notes of court arguments and research citations
- Help in preparing and editing judgments
- Maintain case files and assist in case management
- Prepare statistical reports on timely delivery of judgments
Tenure and Terms
- Engagement for a maximum of two years, renewable yearly
- Leave of absence up to 10 days per year
- Execution of an undertaking as acceptance of the assignment
