• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
• A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from various countries with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided they have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

Age Limit (as of 01.01.2025)

• Minimum: 18 years
• Maximum: 36 years

Age Relaxation

• Scheduled Caste/Scheduled Tribe: 5 years
• Other Backward Classes (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
• Persons with Benchmark Disabilities: 10 years
• Ex-Servicemen: 3 years (after deduction of length of service from age)

• Junior Engineer (JE): Three-year Diploma in Engineering or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology in relevant disciplines.
• Depot Material Superintendent (DMS): Three-year Diploma in Engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
• Chemical & Metallurgical Assistant (CMA): Bachelor’s Degree in Science with Physics and Chemistry.
